Opt for the Dark Horse, and the powertrain will output 500 horsepower and 418 lb-ft of torque. The Chevrolet Camaro brings with it four engine options including a turbocharged 4-cylinder, a V6, a V8, and a Supercharged V8. The 2.0 L turbo 4 puts out 275 horsepower while the V6 delivers 335 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque. While the Camaro’s 6.2 L V8 is less powerful than the Mustang at 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque, the Supercharged ZL1 model delivers a whopping 650 horsepower. While both the Mustang and the Camaro offer unrelenting power and performance, the Camaro offers more variations and more overall power.

Available Trims and Price Points

While the Chevrolet Camaro offers more versatility in terms of power, the Mustang wins out as far as model variations go. The seventh generation of the Mustang introduces the all-new Dark Horse trim. This edition allows drivers to shop nine great models compared to the Camaro’s eight available trims. The Chevrolet Camaro offers a little more leeway as far as pricing goes. The base model Ford Mustang EcoBoost Fastback starts at an MSRP of about $30,920. Meanwhile, the base model Camaro 1LS will start at an estimated MSRP of $27,000. The top trim of the Camaro, the insanely powerful ZL1, has an estimated starting MSRP of $68,000 while the top level Mustang Dark Horse will start at an estimated MSRP of $63,265.
