The New 2016 Toyota Prius - Leaked Photos!

2016 Prius Leaked ImageToyota was one of the first major car makers to bring hybrid vehicles out of the futuristic sci-fi fantasies of dreams of yesteryear and into the reality of our present millennium. Arguably, the Toyota Prius is the model that all other car makers used as the first mainstream hybrid car.

It's hard to believe that the first generation Prius went on sale in 1997. The second generation came out in 2003 and that era of the Prius lasted until 2009. So far, the Prius has sold 3 million cars worldwide to date. That is a lot of happy drivers that can be proud of driving a "green" fuel efficient vehicle. After all the Prius is the most fuel-efficient gasoline car currently sold in the U.S.

So, when the Prius gets an update Toyota dealerships are often flooded with questions.  What new innovates have Toyota built into the latest version of the Prius? Have there been major changes to the exterior? Is it sporty? Roomy? What are the new estimates for fuel consumption?

Just recently leaked photos of the new 2016 Toyota Prius made their rounds on the internet and it certainly has been talked about.
This is kind of a big deal. See, over the last few years the world has been subjected to years of spy shots of Prius models under development. You've seen those pre-production prototypes that are camouflaged to hide all of the new goodies that are being introduced. It gets people salivating and wondering what new lines we can see on the 2016 Prius.

Luckily, the leaked photos show a different Prius.

2016 Prius leaked imageIt seems that engineers at Toyota are attempting to bring a more 'futuristic look'. It's no surprise that the 2016 Prius is looking more like the Toyota Mirai. The Mirai is the very anticipated hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle. The new Prius looks more like the Mirai–especially at the rear.

New looks aside, a Prius is about being "green" and getting great fuel efficiency. More than once the Toyota executives have said that the 2016 Prius will have fuel efficiency that’s at least 10 percent better than the prior model. When you crunch the numbers you get an interesting and aggressive number. We are talking close to 50 miles per gallon. So, can expect 55 mpg or better for the new model. That is pretty amazing.
Engineers have also suggested that the 2016 Prius will be much more fun to drive.  That could mean more "road feel" and tighter suspension. Possibly taking cues from European suspension designs.

One of the other interesting aspects of the new 2016 Toyota Prius is that it will be the first car to be built on an all-new bunch of components that Toyota is calling "Toyota New Generation Architecture". Let's shorten that to TNGA. Apparently, Toyota will use these components to cut development costs for the most expensive and time-consuming parts of a new Prius.
Leave it to Toyota to increase MPG while finding ways to reduce material costs. Toyota dealerships are certainly excited to see these arrive in the showroom!

2015 Toyota Yaris - An amazing little car that can!

If you are looking for a fun reliable car....consider the Toyota Yaris!

Every new Toyota dealership has a bunch of these on the lot and sometimes it might seem like they are overshadowed by the more popular "big cars on campus" like the Corolla, Camry, or the Prius.

2015 Toyota YarisThe Yaris. It's little. But it's feisty.
First, it is a very affordable car. One of the most affordable in the Toyota lineup. Typically, the lower the cost of a vehicle seems there are fewer features. Interestingly, not so with the Yaris.

There are several trim levels. The SE included the following standard equipment: remote keyless entry; Entune multi-media with a 6.1-inch touchscreen; Bluetooth; USB and auxiliary input jacks; a six-way-adjustable driver seat; a leather-wrapped steering wheel with mounted controls; cargo area cover.
Also, the engine featured a 106-horsepower 1.5-liter Dual Overhead Cam four-cylinder engine and four-speed automatic transmission.

These are pretty impressive standard features for a vehicle estimated MSRP around $17,620.
Let's take a look at the exterior. It actually may be one of the sportier looks in the entire Toyota lineup. For example, the Toyota engineers lowered windshield angle. This gives a more 'futuristic' and sporty look for sure. Add the short overhangs and wheels pushed out to the corners. That was a genius move. Yaris appears to have an aggressive road-hugging stance. Short and stalky. Like a hungry bulldog.

The interior continues to look fantastic for the price. The driver has clear views from behind the seat. Your passengers will be surprised to have ample leg and foot room.

When you're at the Toyota dealership definitely take a close look at the 2015 Toyota Yaris. It's right there ready to impress.
