The 2025 Expedition Is Ready to Roll With the Off-Road Tremor Trim

The 2025 Ford Expedition Tremor trim is coming soon and was recently spotted testing without camouflage.  

Spy photographs show the Expedition Tremor with a rugged new look, including a restyled grille and headlights. The Expedition also appears to have adopted the split tailgate on the new Navigator. Irwin Auto Group takes a closer look.

Full-Size SUVs Taking Center Stage

With compact and midsize crossovers dominating the market, full-size SUVs sometimes fall by the wayside, but if you're looking for one, there are some excellent options to pick from. Many of these have been recently refreshed, such as the Lincoln Navigator with a 48-inch dashboard display. Ford is doing the same with an updated Expedition. Among the updates for the new model is the 2025 Ford Expedition Tremor edition. However, there are many other updates, including some new tech and other useful items.

The 2025 Expedition Gets a Tremor Trim and Overhauled Cabin

The biggest news is that the 2025 Ford Expedition Tremor model is on the table. The previous Expedition used the Timberline name for its off-road model, but the 2025 model will be going with the Tremor nameplate from the Ford truck lineup. Like those models, it's decked out in orange accents on the exterior. It also features a single orange-painted spoke on the wheels in an almost identical design to the Ford Maverick Tremor. As a larger SUV, the Expedition naturally features larger wheels with 33-inch all-terrain tires by General Grabber.

Redesigned Front End Resembles F-150 Tremor

The full-size, body-on-frame Ford Expedition adds a more aggressive front end that looks similar to the F-150 Tremor. The headlights and grille are combined into one large, linear, rectangular shape. The grille design is likely unique to the 2025 Ford Expedition Tremor model and also features thin LED lights in a crossbar behind the Ford badge. In the rear, the Expedition added a new split tailgate and redesigned taillights. The split tailgate stands out with a black upper section that will likely be body-colored on production models.

Reworked Interior

Despite the similarities, the Expedition won't get the Navigator's 48-inch dash display, but it features a smaller display floating over the squared-off steering wheel. There is space on either side of the screen, but it's unclear if there will be some storage areas in this space for the production models. Since this is a Tremor model, there's plenty of Tremor badging and orange stitching throughout.
